ECDWM Projects
International Project
The National Women's Ministry pursues projects that have a focus on humanitarian issues to keep the world's neediest before our women. Our annual Project helps us do more together than we could do as individual churches.
SERBIA: THE TIME IS NOW
International Project for 2007-2008 was designed to develop a hospice ministry among
the terminally ill. We praise the Lord that nearly $200,000 was given to this very
worthwhile project. Already over thirty people have come to faith in Christ even
as they were about to enter eternity and their family members have also been impacted
with the gospel.
DESERT SAND: SO LITTLE...SO MUCH
International Women's Ministries Project 2008-2009
Introduced at our Women's Ministries Assembly Brunch, contributions to the National Women's Ministries project for 2008-2009, So Little... So Much, will assist our international workers serving in impoverished regions in the Desert Sand. People in this area have so little. Our goal is to raise $150,000 so people can hear truth and come to know the love of the Father as His compassion is demonstrated.
The project will:
- Help establish a program to break the cycle of AIDS and assist orphans and single parents with AIDS so children can remain in their extended families.
- Provide resources for a library which will serve university students and give them an environment to explore the truth.
- Replace physiotherapy equipment, improve access for wheelchairs, and provide medications for a medical clinic and dispensary in a major city.
- Establish an elementary school with a focus on values and education in an expanding neighbourhood.
- Provide equipment for a youth centre which will reach many youth with the love of the Father.
A copy of the DVD should be in all of your churches in September.
Global Outfitting
Women's Ministries has joined with Global Ministries in contributing to the Global Outfitting ministry. Overseas workers receive these funds when they come on Home Assignment.
The amounts, per year, are: $600 per couple, $450 per single, and $240 per child.
This ongoing project is designed to assist our overseas workers in setting up their household. The need in this fund is ongoing and the amount we distribute varies each year depending on the number of international workers coming on Home Assignment. In the calendar year 2008 we will be distributing well over $35,000 to our overseas workers. Your prayerful contribution to this need is greatly appreciated by our workers. We encourage you to adopt this as a project in your women's ministry and/or church as a whole.
