Youth at Bayridge

JUNIOR HIGH (Grades 7-8)

Our Junior High youth are hungry to hear truth and figure out how to apply it to their lives as they navigate through Junior High School and their ever-changing lives. They also enjoy time spent together just being able to goof around in a positive and encouraging environment.

So, with that in mind we will be developing a discipleship program that meets the needs of the Junior High along with providing a social atmosphere where the teens feel accepted, loved and part of a bigger group.

If you are a Junior high–type person, you are welcome to come on Friday evenings at 7 PM. We will have a Bible Study evening on the first and third week; a game night/devotional type event on the second week. The fourth evening will be a special event. That could be a trip to the bowling alley or a service opportunity in the city or a games night in the home of one of the youth-whatever our imagination can come up with.

If you are a parent of a junior high–type person, you are also welcome to minister along side Pastor Ben and help form the team that will ensure our Junior High have a solid faith-foundation for their Senior High years and beyond.

SENIOR HIGH

The focus of the youth ministry is rooted in scripture - specifically:

  • Seek first the Kingdom (Matthew 6:33)
  • Love God (Matthew 22:37)
  • Love people (Matthew 22:39)

 

If you are a senior high–type person, you are welcome to you are welcome to attend the weekly Bible Study, held on Thursdays at 7 PM at the Gunn residence. See Pastor Ben or call 613-549-9287 for directions. We are currently studying the book of Romans.

As was explained earlier this year, the expectation is that youth will communicate with their parents and that we need to let them take the leadership in this. Students will begin to plan their social times as Pastor Ben and Colleen lead the study time for each evening.
